Intentions & action.

Today, July 1st, marks the beginning of a new chapter of my life.

My baby is 6 weeks and change. She's sleeping well, as am I... eating well... as I will be... :)
and generally a happy kid... Max and Caiah are also transitioning beautifully.

The past 6 months have brought us through some crazy decisions and with that has come a loss of routine.

I love routine.

It's part of the reason I have 15 v-neck shirts & one pair of flip-flops, there's no searching for what to wear... or stopping to consider an outfit... :)

We as a family have been adjusting, mostly well... but a few things have been lost along the way...
namely our intentional individual workout times & our commitment to feed ourselves and the kids fun, interesting, healthy food!

Don't get me wrong. We eat pretty well & are SUPER active... BUT there is always room for improvement...

So this week marks my intentions & re-commitment to working out & eating better as a family.
I've got 30+ pounds to drop... Tim has his body to recondition to running :) ...

Tonight I did Nancy.
400m run
15 OHS (Overhead Squats) (@ 25lbs, standard is 65lbs)

Holy hell. The heat just torn me up. Yes, I am thoroughly de-conditioned. Yes, it's been nearly a year since I've done any sort of formal running (chasing Cai & Max out of streets doesn't count). No, I'm not a frequent lifter. But Geez. I almost finished 4 rounds. If I was given 10 more minutes I may have been able to finish... but only after I threw up a few times... :(
Typically. If you throw up, your body is saying your done. So, I paused a few times... to rehydrate, cool off and talk my body down... :) really wanted to finish, even if it was last... maybe the weight could have been lighter... maybe if I wasn't 175lbs... I could run faster... ;)
anyhow.
I didn't finish.

However.

I did get a fabulous workout and see some friends I haven't in a very long time! It was wonderful.

Looking forward to embracing the heat this summer...
